I am an interdisciplinary performance-based artist and educator.  Born to a maternal lineage of psychiatrists and psychologists, and a paternal lineage of machinery repair workers; I make work in the overlaps of those worlds — exploring the ways machines mirror and disrupt humanness. Similarly, the act of repair was practiced deeply in my family, I carry this practice in my artistic process likewise. My studio time consists of collaboratively creating problems and  solving them; these problems and their resolutions is the work I present. I work with experimental approaches to devised and often non-human performance. In both my work as an artist and educator, community-building is at the core of my values. I create work that disrupts conventions of the everyday as I believe doing so creates openings for audience and performers alike to empathize in new ways. Likewise, my process is heavily focused on questioning the surreality of my everyday experiences and utilizing its themes and objects as material for creative intervention. I use found objects and experiences like brushing my partner’s teeth or counting the time taking the Granville station escalator as my material.
